Founded by Charlie Burke and Daniel Lavers, who through their own struggles of finding meaningful housing solutions within the Australian rental market, built this platform. It serves as a sanctuary for students and backpackers looking for a place that feels like home. At SharePad, we are dedicated to transforming the housing industry by prioritising people over profits, providing innovative services that simplify the search for the perfect room and roommate. Our mission is to create a seamless, supportive community where every member finds more than just a space to live—they discover a place where they truly belong.

We’re Charlie Burke and Daniel Lavers, the co-founders of SharePad. We want to share the reason we started SharePad. After graduating school together, we decided we wanted to move out of home; however, we struggled with finding decent housing and forming genuine connections using other Australian platforms. We grew tired of the costly, time-consuming, doom-scrolling approach that already existed, so we changed this.

We first identified common issues after exchanging stories with friends—similar experiences of boredom and exploitation were shared about currently available housing platforms. SharePad is about putting community first, making sure everyone can find a place that feels like home, not just a rental. It’s about real connections, real homes, and real people. We’re here to shake up the industry by focusing on what truly matters—helping you find the right place with the right people.
